Fernando Pacheco was born in São João Del Rei/MG, Brazil, in May, 5th, of 1949 and lives and works in Belo Horizonte / Brazil, where he detains the title of “honorary citizen”. Made individual exhibitions in the most important museums of the country (MAM, MAC and Pinacoteca – São Paulo; MAM and Museu Nacional de Belas Artes – Rio de Janeiro; MAP – Belo Horizonte; etc.). He has been part of art shows of FUNARTE/RJ and the “Panorama de Arte Atual Brasileira”, MAM/SP. He obtained 20 awards; 45 honours, including the Medals “Liberdade e Cidadania” (from the cities of Ritápolis, Tiradentes and São João Del Rei), the Medal Santos Dumont, the Medal Tomás Antônio Gonzaga from the Ordem dos Cavaleiros da Inconfidência Mineira, the Medal of Inconfidência, amongst others; he made 60 individual exhibitions. In the year of 2005, he made  individual exhibition at Palácio das Artes / Belo Horizonte, along with the releasing of a book and a video, containing texts of Bartolomeu Campos Queirós and Carlos Heitor Cony. In the following years, he released 3 more books about his work, with texts of Vera Casa Nova and Jacob Klintowitz. In 2009, his exhibition containing 60 works at the Great Gallery of Palácio das Artes and at the Museum Casa dos Contos in Ouro Preto/MG had an attendance of about 30 thousand people. Later in 2012, he released the Book “O Papel do Artista” with a big exhibition of paintings, drawings, printings and objects, at the Brazilian Letters Academy, in Rio de Janeiro. Fernando Pacheco has permanently exhibited panels at the Belo Horizonte International Airport in Confins/MG, at the Work Ministery / Belo Horizonte-MG, at the Tourism Secretary of the State of Minas Gerais, at the Official Press of the State of Minas Gerais, at the Fiat Cultural House, amongst others. His work is represented in many important collections of Brazil and abroad, like the Fundación Albéniz – Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia / Spain, and the Ministry of Culture of China. Internationally, he made exhibitions in Buenos Aires / Argentina; Santiago / Chile; Miami, Chicago and New York / USA; Wellington and Auckland (twice) / New Zealand; Taipei / Taiwan; Atami, Kyoto and Tokyo / Japan; Hangzhou and Beijing (twice) / China, where he was honoured with the “Good Will Ambassador” Title, from the V Love Foundation.
